Home Sweet Home and stuff...

I'm home from Peru. It's a bit bizarre to be wearing a tee shirt and breaking a sweat one day and the next you're freezing your spoon off in the middle of a snowstorm. I love Peru and their hotel beds, but I REALLY love the United States and my bed even more. So the Lomo Saltado will have to be eaten by some other indigenous or foreign folks until I can return to devour more.

So today, on my first day back to my beloved (current) studio I have officially started working on a theme song for a fairly well-known video game. Legally speaking, I cannot tell you what game it is until it's actually on the shelves, so for now you may speculate til your heart's content. I will be doing the things I do for this track, vocals and all. I can also tell you that I have 6 other previously released tracks in the game and Blue Stahli has 2 as well. I love my job.

I *have* begun work on Chapter 03, have no fear. I've already began sifting through gigabytes of drums I cut a few months ago for "The Lucky One." I am still trying to figure out what drummer i want to bring in to play on the rest of the album (including "I Can't Wait" which is part of Chapter 03.) But for now, i have so much work to do on these 2 songs in general that it gives my spoon a rash. I'll keep you guys updated on Chapter 03 progress - promise.

Not sure if you've heard but in case you haven't, my remix of BT's "Suddenly" has been released. You can check it here. More good news: I have 2 more artists on board for "Remixed Upon a Blackstar" in addition to Toksin, BT & J. Scott G/Imprintz & Kloe (pka Phat Riderz.) I want to make sure things are solid though before announcing them to you, but i'm pretty effing stoked to have both of these artists taking part in this. What this will also mean is that i will in return be working on something with/for them. Hint: I've already done a remix for one of these artists in the past. Since i don't take on many remixes, this narrows down your choices considerably.

I've also begun talks regarding the shooting of a "Louder Than Words" music video. Details to be released when i nail them down. Who knows, maybe YOU might even be in the video?? So if all this work hasn't been enough, i'm *still* in the process of building out my new studio facility. It's taking forever, but i've been personally shooting video and taking photos during the whole process. My plan is to at some point, show you the progress of the rooms bc ultimately this will be where i'll be spending most of my time. I still love my job.

There's more to tell i'm sure, bc there's always more to tell. But maybe this is enough for one Klog so i'm outta here. It was good talking at you.

Look Into My Eye...

It's hard to believe it's 2010 already. I feel like i went to bed the New Year's Eve of the Y2K scare and woke up to 2010. Oh well, at least I've written one or two songs over the last 10 years, so I feel pretty productive.

I did spend some time over the Holidays thinking through what I'll be doing this coming year. Since some of you have asked, I will tell. I know I'll certainly being *cough* attempting *cough* to finish off "Wish Upon a Blackstar." In fact I would already be underway with Chapter 03 if i hadn't been working on a few other things these last few weeks. One of these mysterioius "things" has been brewing in the back of my mind for awhile now and I have finally started taking steps towards making this particular "thing" happen. I can't tell you what it is yet, becasue i feel like I've doled out enough Blue Balls over the last decade talking about things i wanted to do and didn't have time to complete. So I'll just wait until i know it's ready to announce.

I am scheduled to start work
this month on the theme song for a video game. I can't say which yet until details are 100% finalized but I'm pretty excited about this one. (I don't get too excited too often bc last time i did, i had to go to the hospital to treat what they called an "excitement rash." I thought they used to call those STD's??....)

I have also started collaborating on a track with James Dooley on an as-of-yet untitled track. I spent the week before Christmas fleshing out an idea he sent over and i think this thing is destined to hit a movie trailer or two when we wrap it up.

There are a lot more updates i'm sure i could blab on about, but i think i'll cut this one short before you all abandon me for "over-typing induced boredom" (or OTIB as the professionals call it.)

I'm out -

Merry Christmas...

I remember one Christmas in particular as a kid. I had been more unruly than normal that year, so not only did i get coal in my stocking but also had to clean up the Santa-Crap in the fireplace. Touche, Santa... Touche.

I'm out of town for Christmas and I'm not too mad about it. Chapter 02 was quite a bit of work and Chapter o3 won't be any less work. So if that isn't enough by itself, I'm also collaborating on a track with James Dooley as well as working on some music for an upcoming game (i'll disclose details when appropriate.) I also have some other things brewing that I won't tell you about just yet, bc i don't want to create any more blue balls than I already have by talking about big ideas i get that i ultimately run out of time to finalize.

So, for now this is just "Merry Christmas" or "Kwanzaa" or "Channukah" or "6 foot grave of black nothingness" (if you're an athiest) from me to you from the bottom of my lower intestine. Speaking of lower intestine, I've been pretty good in 2009 so i'm hoping to not have to clean up after Santa this year.

Be good kids!

The Effin Shiz (12-08-2009)

I'm sorry, blame Bret from Blue Stahli for corrupting me with this. I pretty much completely empited my bladder into my pants and now I have to find some fresh undies and some applejuice.
