Greetings and salutations, Cellmates and travelers. I trust you had a good end-of-the-year break and now here we are, the year of our Lord, 2026 and we’re all back at it, playing that game we all love called “do your best to survive living on planet earth in the 21st century.” Such a fun game. I enjoyed my time on Atiria during the break and in spite of the harsh conditions of the planet, probably prefer it there than the reality of the insane world most of us are originally from (Earth.) I do have some things to share, so share I shall.
Celldweller – Many of you may have heard me mention the God Mode EP I’ve been working on (“Fakebreaker” being the first song towards said EP.) Well, there’s been a status update to that project and instead of just typing a news post that some people will just paste into the AI platform of choice to paraphrase, I decided to test out some of my new camera gear by shooting a little video to show you the update in moving pictures instead of just words. Although I’m not the best cinematographer or editor in the world, I simply enjoyed making it, and that’s good enough for me. Hope at least some of you are mildly excited about what I’m not-so-subtly announcing in this video.
In more Celldweller news, the soundtrack I produced and wrote some original music for is slated for full release this quarter (so sometime before April.) My company Bit Bot ran a Kickstarter for our graphic novel Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise based on the critically acclaimed video game series. I covered one of the original tracks from Soul Reaver “Ozar Midrashim” (also known as “Raziel’s Theme”) and wrote a new original song “Elaleth”. I also created a whole bunch of ‘Story Mode’ tracks, in the vein of the Factions from my End of an Empire album. I blended dialog from the original games over an original musical score to help tie the whole soundtrack together. Whether you knew the original games or not, I believe the music will stand on its own.
I recently did a Circle of Dust interview with Heaven’s Metal magazine which is now available in both print and digital versions. I also just did an hour-long video interview with HM Magazine which will be out soon, I think. We’ll let you know when they post it. There’s a few stories in there I’m pretty sure I’ve never discussed publicly before so dig in if you want the 411.
I often get asked by aspiring producers how to get started and how to be successful. I give you my real-world answer to that question by giving you a peek behind the curtain on how I became a successful producer. Check that out —> here.
This is a shorter news post mainly because I spent most of my time shooting and editing the video above. But I also spent some time doing something I haven’t been able to in a long time – I made a FreqGen track on my modular rig just because I can and it was also a good excuse to use some of that camera gear I’ve been talking about. Click this to go to the video premiere page and click the notify me button to be reminded when it drops. Here’s hoping it brings a little moment of reprieve into your life.
Until we meet again, I remain respectfully yours – Klayton
